Merry Christmas
T'is the season to be jolly! Merry Christmas everyone. I hope the day has been AMAZING for you all! Well, my day was super special.. i don't know if i put this on my previous blog about Christmas morning tradition, but Kyle kept the tradition. This morning at 6:45 he called the house.. got my mom to wake me up and he giggly said to me to wake up as well. It was GREAT. Part of our tradition is that Ky wakes me up and then we both go Jump on Jason. So we got jason up to. It was REALLY speical to have him call and continue what we use to do as kids. And the fact that he called from China. That made my day... Other then that.. Santa arrived at our house.. even with all the extra families there. It was a Great time... and YES i do believe in Santa. It helps to keep the imagination flowing. Gatta love this time of year! i love being able to see family.. i'm sure sometime this week we will make the trip down to the Valley and see all of my other relatives, which will be nice. I haven't seen them in a long time. I have second cousins that i haven't even met.. and i found out last week that one of my cousins had a baby.. i didn't even know she was pregnant. I love being kept in the loop of things. Good times. Merrry Christmas and Happy New year!
The Boy and I
Oh.. just so everyone knows.. this is a picture of Kelvin and I. I'm sure you all wanted to see it :) If you don't know who he is.. he's my boyfriend who lives in Michigan. Great Christian guy.. going to school for Criminal Justice. Oldest of 8 children. Has a huge heart to serve the Lord! And sorry for those who wanted to see my pink dress from the contata.. i'm still trying to get my hands on one! Merry Christmas Eve Eve.
"Home is where your Rump Rests"
Well, for now... Truro is my home. AND JASON is coming home tonight! I can't wait to see him.. it's seriously been forever since i have.. ok 7 months.. but i'll get over it.. and Kyle is in Bejing looking at The Great Wall of China. How come he gets all the adventures?? i get to stay in North America... they have been all over Canada and traveled to other parts of the world.. and little old me.. stuck in North America... my time will come i'm sure of it. But home has always been where your rump rests for our family. From the Yukon to the Northest Territories and NS, NB, ON... it's where we have gone. That's always a good thing, i have enjoyed the dynamics of our family.. we enjoy being versitile.. i know it's not for everyone.. but it has worked for us. So the Holidays are arriving.. and we have a HUGE amount of people coming foro Christmas and Christmas dinner. i think about 12 of us, and i must say, that it's a very dymanic group. A bit of family from both sides. I hope this doens't cause world war three. But it will be nice to have the family around. So Tina was here for the past 5 days or so.. it was REALLY nice to have the company since my parents work all day. We played Cribbage.. which not to many people i know know how to play that. So it's fun to play that with her. And Christmas is only '5 sleeps' away. Yeye.. i love Christmas, i love the surprises, the family, the traditions that each family carries. Story time with Sasha: Our tradition is.. Christmas morning Kyle will wake us up at 7 in the morning.. by Jumping on me first saying "Sasha it's Christmas.. you gatta get up.. " and he's do that a few times and we go do it to Jason.. he's the harder one to tackle on this issue.. he loves his bed. And then we go get the stockings and bring them up on Mom and Dad's bed... and yes... even now we still all cram on there bed and open them up. Then we all head downstairs tp look at the Christmas tree.. start a fire in the fire place, and then all take our position.. ok dad always makes coffee frist.. ebcuase he has a hard tiem waking up too :) And then Kyle's the man.. he takes a present from under the tree and we all take turns opening them... one at a time.. sometimes.. THAT'S TORTURE!! if we go to long.. we make Bacon, eggs and hash browns or sausage... for breakfast..mmm.... it's sounds good doesn't it... and then we open up the rest of them.. and i'm not saying we have ALOT under thre tree.. sometimes it jsut takes us a while to oooo and awwww over what we get. So that's story time with Sasha... that's a tradition at our house... and yes this year it's changing and i'm sure i have already said this a few times.. but growing up isn't always fun...But it's definitly an Adventure.
My brothers...
Well, life is always happening at the Blaikie house! Kyle is in Vancouver and is leaving for China on Saturday.. you ask where?? i'm not completely sure.. and Jason is returning from Thailand on Tuesday. YEYEY how exciting is that! i haven't seen my brothers in 6 months.. and it will be over a year before i se Kyle again, but, i guess that's all apart of growing up. Other exciting news. I learned how to make Chicken! i cooked it today and i jsut have to put the rest of the seasoning on with this particular recipie. I can bake no problem.. but when it comes to cooking.. it's not my thing... but i'm learning. So that's my news for the day. Tina is comming for a visit, my church has their contata this weekend.. which means a big Hymn sing.. adn then the best part.. the kids singing and looking out at their parents and waving.. forgetting where they were in the song. The older ones carrying it by themselves. It's cute none the less. Question.. does anyone know of a good easter children's musical? i'm looking for one. Have a great one!
The Weekend..
Well, this weekend i was at Hillside for the Contata.. which i was apart of, i did a solo, as well as sung with the choir. That was GREAT fun! it was based in the 30'ies... so my outfit almsot took my breath away... literally.. it was pink and tight around my ribs. it was hard to breathe...lol.. anyway...I loved meeting all the people... i have alot of poeple to learn. I think the hardest part of getting a new job, in a church is learning everyones name without feeling dumb. I am horrible at remembering names unless i have a conversation with them. I can remember most kids names, but adults.. gosh.. that's always a challenge.
Oh second thought... ok.. who said that bunnies can jump so high. And i learned this morning that they love to play at dusk and at dawn. Bunny likes 6 in the morning... never put an animal in your room. She jumped out of her box and ran around my room until i decided to get up. So, dad and i are going to attempt to build a cage for her. Something nice to go in my nice new office at the church. It will be a great hit with the kids i think. She's a super cute bunny. Has lots of personality... just as stubborn as me i think. And Robert...thank you for your comment.. :D i will not comment further on that one.
So life is good... i have to prepare my sermon still... and everyone i the church knows that i''m preaching... SCARY...God will see me through it.
So those are my thoughts for the day. bye... Hey Missy and Tina.. am i keeping up on this thing well enough???
opps...
well i had a picture of me here.. but ya know.. i was playing around with this thing.. i couldn't figure out how to make my picture smaller to fit on the personalized stuff in the blog site... but my dad's computer doesn't have the proper programs to do that. gatta love it!
Bunny....
So my new adventure... i have wanted a bunny for the longest time.. and now i have a cute little bunny... she's the perfect pet! i can sit at the piano, sing and play.. she jsut sits there listening to me, or she jsut snuggles close to your neck...at times she can almost be like a dog... she licks. I think it's the baby in her. She's only about 5 and ahalf weeks old. she won't get any bigger than 3-4 pounds. So that's my new news! Nothing to exciting. I'm jsut passing time by, making presents and hanging out with my mom and dad. Singing at Hillside Wesleyan's contata this year. That's this weekend. The music is fun, it's pretty easy... except the music has like the 5 versus to the christmas carol that no one really knows or has heard of before... So that's always fun to learn :D.. Sorry this isn't interesting, But i'm EXCITED I FINALLY GOT A BUNNY!!!.. a bunny of my own.. And Nata if you read this... It's the bunny (smile). Some of you might wonder what her name is... um.. baby bunny as of right now. I had been thinking of a cute spanish name.. but i couldn't really find one that i liked. If you have any suggestions. Let me know. That's all folks
Going Home
Well, the time has come.... I go home. I get to see my parents for the first time in 6 months. It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but it really has been. SOOO.. I get to see my parents tonight, which I'm super excited about.. and then we will see what i will have to do when I go home. I start at Hillside January 1, with my preaching debut! YEY.. just what I always wanted to do...haha... I guess I can learn to endure this. God will see me through. There are a whole lot more preparations to my life now that I am apart of a new position and making a new position successful. I have to learn to be a detailed thinker. That's going to be a challenge. Anyone have any tips on details?? So, thanks to all of you who wrote on my blog, that made me feel special. I only got it yesterday... CRAZY. I can't guarantee that i will keep updating this, but i will add pictures and such on for you to see. I have been having a blast with the girls here on campus...And especially with Diana, Missy and Tina! YEY! it's been fun! . sisterhood of the traveling pants, ladies... sisterhood of the traveling pants... :)
